The Art Of Banksy – An Unauthorized Exhibition

The Art Of Banksy is bringing the historic streets of London to the steps of Melbourne, the exhibition will take visitors on a sort of journey, exploring the questionable genius of the world’s most infamous street artist with a retrospective of over 80 of the artists’ off-street masterpieces.

All pieces included in The Art of Banksy exhibition are original works and limited edition screenprints by Banksy himself, which are all unique in their form.

“This exhibition is a one off – never will you be able to see this amount of work in one place again. Once the show is over, the artwork will dissipate back to the other 40 collectors around the world, and the likelihood of them being brought together again in the future is very slim.” – Steve Lazarides

Upfest 2016

UPFEST – The Urban Paint Festival, created in 2008 between three crazy but art loving individuals. Inspired by Super Cans (Southampton), Cans Festival (London) and the growing number of paint jams around the UK, Upfest was born.

Upfest was originally conceived to get a group of 20 like minded artists together for a day of painting here in Bristol, however the first festival quickly grew to 50 artists once the word was out. It also help that one of the organiser had just been made redundant for the second time in 8 months and had too much time on his hands, after securing (through a few white lies) a fantastic Bristol venue, the Tobacco Factory, the first Upfest took place in October 2008.

Upfest 2016, Europe’s largest, free, street art & graffiti festival, attracting over 300 artists painting 28 venues throughout Bedminster & Southville, Bristol from 23rd – 25th July. Talented artists travel from 25 countries and across the UK to paint live on 30,000sqft of surfaces in front of 25,000 visitors.

John Kaye’s Chained To The Sky

Hailing from the east coast of Australia, John Kaye migrated west to the sunny city of Perth to undertake a residency at The Butcher Shop. His show “Chained to the Sky” saw work created inside and outside of the studio with overarching themes concerning freedom and a transient lifestyle. John reflects on his most recent body swilling a glass of red, overlooking the yard from a fold up chair on his makeshift verandah.

Street Craft : Yarnbombing, Guerilla Gardening, Light Tagging, Lace Graffiti and More

Street Craft brings together twenty-eight different artists from different countries whose work has redefined what street art can be. By diversifying materials and techniques, Street Craft artists are pushing beyond the two-dimensionality of graffiti and mural-painting, many of them using craft techniques to bring inventive beauty to bland urban surroundings. Tasha Lewis’s blue butterfly swarms decorate derelict corners of Indianapolis and New York, and Mademoiselle Maurice’s origami and lace graffiti beautifies the streets of Paris and Hong Kong. Other artists create sophisticated urban interventions bearing their personal tags, such as the artist SpiderTag, who intertwines sturdy rope and nails to construct abstract graffiti in Madrid, and GorillaLighting, who haunts Berlin’s industrial estates with impermanent projections.

Raubdruckerin The Pirate Printer

Raubdruckerin uses drain covers as a printing module for textiles and paper. By pressing a garment on a drain cover coated with paint, the surface is beeing transfered as a graphical pattern onto the desired object. After first experiments in 2006 Raubdruckerin is meanwhile printing in streets all over the world. Currently the collection shows objects from more than 20 cities.

Every place tells his story through his surfaces. To capture the beauty of their stories, to bring people together by organizing street performances and to sensitize people´s view for the little and seemingly unimportant things in life are the main motivations for this project.
