“We all share a common interest to the well being of our societies and self expression is one of our core values both as individuals and groups. I have created the Art Connect Project rooted in the philosophy that investment in education, art and humanities is vital for the uplifting and development of any society. This program is created to promote self awareness through the use of educational and dynamic creative workshops.”

Chalkbot

Dupa txtBOMBER ramanem la “roboti” programabili care scriu texte pe diferite medii, si prezentam CHALKBOT, un proiect destul de vechi, realizat de DeepLocal / StandardRobot si promovat prin 2009-2010 de catre Nike.
Developed in partnership with DeepLocal and StandardRobot, the Chalkbot in appearance is similar to an ink jet printer, except at a much larger scale. The trailer mounted device is fully self-contained and pneumatically spray out either messages or graphics. The device will debut at the 2nd Stage of 2009 Tour de France on July 5th.

txtBOMBER

The txtBOMBER is a one-hand-guerillia-tool – a machine not much bigger than a pressing iron – that generates political statements on the fly and immidiately prints them on any flat surface.
If you feel you are part of our modern viewless generation, the txtBOMBER is the perfect tool for you! Just switch it on, it’s powered by a strong battery. And move it along a wall. It’s that easy to show your (?) its (?) someones (?) opinion of something (?) someone?! Hell! You should reconsider whether you’re keen enough to use it!

Never Odd or Even : Part 1

Anthony Lister – Solo Exhibition Never Odd or Even Interview Part 1 / Robert Fontaine Gallery
Anthony Lister was born in Brisbane, Australia in 1979 and he received his BFA at Queensland College of Art in 2001. He was a pioneering force in the stencil and street art movement in Brisbane before moving to New York City in 2003 to apprentice under Max Gimblett. He employs a sophisticated, fine art, painterly style in both his street art and his works exhibited inside galleries. High and low culture clash in his paintings, drawings, and installations where boorish superheroes, flirtatious ballerinas, bad-tempered old masters, and imperious vamps raucously coexist. With exhibitions worldwide, Lister’s latest shows in Milan and Los Angeles have turned his focus back to the human form, and more specifically, the female figure as ballerina. An interesting counterpoint to the recent Degas show in London, Lister presents a more rough-hewn, but surprisingly delicate take on the dancer’s body. Today, he lives and works in Brisbane and is represented exclusively by the Robert Fontaine Gallery.

Living The Dream

It isn’t enough to dare to dream. If you want something you can keep dreaming about it, or you can dare to do what it takes to make your dream come true. This positive way of looking at things seems to work out very well for this European transplant in LA.
If you haven’t noticed, the street artist and avid skater called Chase is on a campaign to help you stay mindful of the power of positive thinking and living a life that feels true to your soul. The artist’s murals, paintings, and stencil art makes abundant use of bright 60s pop colors, humor and uplifting messages to bring positive energy to others, and his work graces more than 200 murals in LA and other cities. Chase has items for sale in stores and has collaborated with Puma, Adidas, Levis (just to name a few).
The principles Chase strives to motivate through his work are representative of the artist’s approach to his own life. Like a lot of kids from broken families, the young skater got into his share of trouble growing up in Antwerp (Belgium), and the artist developed his positive mindset as a kind of survival mechanism. Chase figured out early that doing what you love is the key to being happy, and he began dreaming of getting to Los Angeles to skate. His artwork has been a huge part of what has made his dream possible. Most often, the artist can be found in the streets working on murals, cars, complete stores or billboards. Chase believes that every object presents an opportunity to create something and spread the word about his positive message.
