O Mica Arhiva De Sabloane Din 2005

Painting The City : 10 Ani De Wooster Collective

Wooster Collective sarbatoreste aniversarea de 10 ani de existenta, asa ca au angajat artisti precum Obey, Faith47, London Police, Eltono, Buff Monster si multi altii,sa realizeze murale pe cateva din strazile New York-ului.

10 Years of Wooster Collective: 2003-2013 is a celebration of urban art and its incredible diversity of creativity over the past decade. Marc and Sara Schiller founded Wooster Collective out of their genuine desire to share with the world the ephemeral art they were witnessing emerge from their downtown Manhattan neighborhood. The artwork featured in the show captures the energy, creativity and message of the artists who have grown with Wooster Collective over the years; they have been showcased on Wooster Collective’s website, in the monumental 11 Spring Street show and in Trespass: A History of Uncommissioned Urban Art, a collaboration with the publisher TASCHEN and art historian, Carlo McCormick.

While street artists express themselves in a myriad of ways, they are joined by a set of common principles: reclaiming public space, beautifying the environment and the fighting for the freedom of speech. Street art has become the catalyst for people of all cultural and economic backgrounds to challenge the system and express themselves without any filter. Marc and Sara Schiller have been avid supporters of the movement by acting as a mouthpiece to help artists promote their message to a wider audience through the global community online. Ultimately, 10 Years of Wooster Collective: 2003-2013 is a celebration of street art’s power to transform people and societies for the better.

Stencil Art Norway

Street Art Norway takes an historical look at the art of cutting and spraying in Norway. It brings together two generations of artists and presents work, much of it exclusive to the show, spanning over a decade of production. It wasn’t long after Banksy’s visit to Bergen in 2000 that now globally recognised stencil artist Dolk cut his first stencil. Banksy’s visit kick started a Norwegian love affair with the stencil that influenced a generation who in turn are influencing the next.

Street Art Norway takes a look at these early days and follows the culture up to the present day in this, Norway’s first group exhibition dedicated exclusively to Norwegian Stencil Art.

Stencil Art Prize : World Stencil Prize

STENCIL ART PRIZE – WORLD CATEGORY

The inaugural World Stencil Prize is now open for entries. Deadline for entries is 15 August 2013.

The winner of the 2013 World Stencil Prize will take home a $2000 cash prize (Australian Dollars) and win the world title. The inaugural World Stencil Prize will exhibit alongside the Australian Stencil Art Prize at the Chrissie Cotter Gallery in Sydney from the 16 – 27 October 2013.

The Prize is run by the organisers of the Australian Stencil Art Prize. After many inquiries from international artists asking to enter the Australian Stencil Art Prize, it became evident that there was a demand for an international prize.

The Stencil Art Prize is the only large scale prize in the world that exists to recognise and reward stencil artists. The Stencil Art Prize has two entry categories – the Australian Stencil Art Prize (Australian artists only) and the World Stencil Prize (open to all artists).

From 2009 – 2012, the Australian Stencil Art Prize was the only art prize of its kind and will celebrate its fifth anniversary this year.

In response to mounting interest from international stencil artists, the organisers of the Australian Stencil Art prize have restructured the annual prize and launched the Stencil Art Prize in 2013. This year, for the first time, international artists will have the opportunity to submit artworks for judging through the World Stencil Prize category of the Stencil Art Prize.

Objective :
- Recognise and reward stencil artists
- Provide recognition for stencil art as an artform in its own right
- Archive stencil art

The Art Of Punk : Crass

On the next installment of The Art of Punk, we tear into the art of Crass. From the assaulting black and white photo-realistic paintings of protest, anarchy, and social satire, to their legendary adopted brand and two headed snake and cross symbol. We head up to the Anarchist Book Fair in San Francisco to meet up with Gee Vaucher, and founding Crass member, writer, and activist, Penny Rimbaud. We discuss the art and the lifestyle stemming from the infamous Dial House, where they have lived, worked, and crated their own brand of anarchistic beauty, for more than 3 decades. We have a sit down with artist Scott Campbell, at his own New York tattoo shop, and talk about how the art of Crass, and one single t-shirt created a fork in his own road of life. Owen Thornton talks some shit. Finally we hang out with British graphic designer Dave King – the creator of the infamous snake and cross symbol, and discuss post war England, hippies, punk, graphic design, and more, that led him to the creation of the symbol made legend by Crass.

Created, directed, and Executive Produced by writer/author of ‘Fucked Up + Photocopied’, Bryan Ray Turcotte (Kill Your Idols), and Bo Bushnell (The Western Empire), The Art Of Punk traces the roots of the punk movement and the artists behind the iconic logos of punk bands such as: Black Flag (Raymond Pettibon), The Dead Kennedys (Winston Smith), and Crass (Dave King).

In addition to profiling the artists, the series includes intimate interviews with former band members, notable artists, and celebrities who have been heavily influenced by the art of punk rock including Jello Biafra, Tim Biskup, Scott Campbell, Chuck Dukowski, Flea, Steve Olson, Penny Rimbaud, Henry Rollins, Owen Thornton, and Gee Vaucher.

The filmmakers Bryan Ray Turcotte and Bo Bushnell take a unique approach to exploring the rich histories of these three seminal punk legends by focusing on the influential imagery and seeking out stories that have not been told yet through the artwork, which is integral to the importance and influence of each band.
