Roadsworth : Crossing The Line
ROADSWORTH: CROSSING THE LINE chronicles the artist’s clandestine campaign to make his mark on city streets.
Hailed as an “artist’s artist” by New York’s Wooster Collective, Peter Gibson, aka Roadsworth began to play with the language of the streets, overlaying city asphalt markings with his own images: a crosswalk became a giant boot print, vines choked up traffic dividers, and electrical plugs filled parking spots. Each piece begged the question, who owns public space?
As he is prosecuted at home and celebrated abroad, Roadsworth struggles to defend his work, define himself as an artist and address difficult questions about art and freedom of expression.
Detalii despre inscrierea in concurs AICI.
Deadline 30 septembrie!

Aaron De La Cruz
Aaron De La Cruz’s work, though minimal and direct at first, tends to overcome barriers of separation and freely steps in and out of the realms of design, graffiti, and illustration.
The parameters he has chosen to work within actually allow him to free himself and react to the very limitations he has created. This overriding structure and the lack of deliberation while moving within creates a tension when encountering his work due to the almost computer generated grid like systems he creates by unplanned markmaking. The act and the marks themselves are very primal in nature but tend to take on distinct and sometimes higher meanings in the broad range of mediums and contexts they appear in and on.
His work finds strengths in the reduction of his interests in life to minimal information. De La Cruz gains from the idea of exclusion, just because you don’t literally see it doesn’t mean that its not there.

Painted Pigeons
Italy paints pigeons to make them more beautiful for tourists for a project called “Some pigeons are more equal than others,” artists Julius von Bismarck and Julian Charriere spraypainted a handful of Venice’s pigeons and rereleased them in time for 2012 Venice Biennale. The German duo dyed the birds in the radiant colors of Macaws, Flamingos and Cardinals, with the hope that tourists would notice their beauty, and stop referring to them as “rats of the sky”.
